An online Post it Board for neighbourhoods

One of the challenges faced by social housing websites has long been the ability to quickly and simply provide information for specific groups of people. Adding news updates and notices to a central news page is not always the answer - after all, residents in one area may have little interest in what is happening in another area. Traditional webpages offer a structured format for presenting information and often require editor skills to manage the content. One solution that is both simple to edit and manage, and easy to read is the Area Notice Board from Emerald.
 
 
Currently in use at Richmond Housing Partnership and going live at Harvest in summer 2011, My Noticeboard offers an online noticeboard for each area or estate - it's a series of virtual community noticeboards! Content editing is via a WYSIWYG editor and requires no more than 10 minutes of training. Neighbourhood officers and managers use the My Noticeboard to inform residents of a variety of topics from planned repairs, dates of estate visits, availability of staff and caretakers, community events - in fact any event that doesn't really need a full web article. If it can be said in a few words this is the perfect platform!

And the best part is that it can be added to any website - it's a fully hosted solution that requires no more than a link from an existing website.
 
The outline process to set up a Notice Board is as follows:
 
  1. Agree contract terms, including number of Boards required
  2. Emerald inserts branding elements and contact details for each area Area Board
  3. Emerald sets up domain for Notice Board if appropriate
  4. Emerald supplies My NoticeBoard button for insertion into website (choice of styles available - bespoke design available to match existing website)
  5. User training manual supplied and user training session carried out (onsite or remote subject to location)
  6. Neighbourhood staff enter initial notices
  7. NoticeBoard is live.
